Bloom Where You Are Planted

INDEX - See below: Bless you for watching my videos and then coming back here to read what I've written down in my positivity journal during the month. Every time you visit my blog, my dashboard records your visit, so I know I have a few faithful readers. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.  💖

FEBRUARY
* I'm thankful that the Whistler's moved to Kansas City and began attending the church I grew up in. I got acquainted with their daughter in youth group. She is presently my oldest BFF and spiritual sister of my heart.
* I'm thankful when our utility bills get paid. It's really nice to have lights and hot water.
* I'm thankful for that flatbread press that my hubby ordered for me! Now to collect recipes for it - corn & flour tortillas, personal pan pizza dough, pie dough, pumpkin, squash and sweet potato flatbreads, etc.
* I'm thankful for new glasses and shoes!

METFORMIN TRACKER - I learned long time ago that in order to remember whether I've taken my meds that day or not, is to write it down if it's one dose, but if you have multiple tabs to take, a daily tab dispenser is also helpful. Then you can see at a glance if you have taken your meds at the right times of the day.

EVENTS - I attended church this month and gave away my coloring sheets.  My therapist suggested I share a bit of myself with someone else, so I have. I attended coloring club at Ink, Paper, Rubber this month and passed around extras of my coloring sheets. My husband and I have been attending Diabetic Education Classes that my husband is required to attend by his new doctors (our insurance network changed).  My husband, son, my sister - in-love and her daughter went on a sponsored scavenger hunt downtown. They walked about a 3 mile radius looking for things on their list, taking a photo of it to prove they found it and came in 26th place. They said it was a lot of fun, but poor hubby's calves sure got a work-out and he could barely hobble around the next couple days. 😁 I would have went with them, but I don't have a scooter. I would have never made it with just a rollator walker.  My husband's employer has quarterly community service days -- they take volunteers who want to work for PTO credits and this month, hubby worked at ReStore one Saturday. I attend some of the service days and social activities with hubby when able.  And then my girlfriends and I got together to craft encouragement cards for a friend's daughter who is experiencing some serious illness. We were joined by another girlfriend via video chat who also worked on a craft project of her own with us.

SCRIPTURES - Documented Faith Scriptures 6-10. Members of Marsha Baker's Facebook group and email list have been studying the names of God.

Psalm 107:27b-31 = . . . they were at their wits end. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress. He still the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them their desired haven. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men.

QUOTES

An attitude of gratitude

Be a fruit loop in a world full of cheerios!

Be good and kind to yourself.

Be grateful, not hateful.

Collect beautiful moments.

"Different is better than better." (~ Sally Hogshead) [Quote reminded me of what an art teacher told me after I complained that I wanted my style to be like the popular style that all my girlfriends liked. She said different was good, so embrace it.]

"Do good deeds in a funny way. The world needs to laugh or at least smile more than it does." (Rose O'Neill, Kewpie artist.)

"Happiness is a choice that you make." (~ Grandma Edna Rosolli).

"Learning is an active process. We learn by doing. . . only knowledge that is used sticks in your mind." (~ Dale Carnegie)

O Taste! And see that the Lord is good!

"Prayer is, at root, simply paying attention to God." (Dr. Ralph Martin)

"True success and contentment are not achieved unless action accompanies ideas." (Anonymous)

"When we allow people to intimidate us, we neutralize our effectiveness for God. The power of the Holy Spirit can help us overcome our fear of what some might say or do to us. (~ Stephanie Ackerman).

"Your vibe attracts your tribe." (~ Sean Connell)

ENCOURAGEMENT COLLECTION - I added a new section to my positivity journal. At the very center, I made sticker prints (Polaroid Zink) of quotes that my girlfriends sent me via text and e-mail.

I love you to the moon & back, to infinity and beyond, forever and ever.

Is there anything she can't handle? She's been broken. She's been defeated. She felt pain that most couldn't handle. She looks fear in the face; year after year, day after day, but yet she never runs. She never hides. And she ALWAYS finds a way to get back up. She is unbreakable, she is a warrior. SHE IS YOU.

Wednesday Prayer - Dear Lord, as I face the world today, may I hear your voice above all others. May any critical or negative things I hear go in one ear and out the other. Help me remember that the peace you offer, the world cannot give or take away. Thank you for being my strength, my shield, my refuge, my healer, my defender, my provider and my advocate. You are everything I need. You are greater than anything I will face today. If you are for me, it doesn't matter who or what comes against me. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. Hope for The Broken Hearted.com

Why we need best friends - Because they laugh at the same stupid things we do. Because they give us honest advice. Because they will be there for us, even if they're thousands of miles away. Because they celebrate with us when we're at our best, but still love us at our worst.

Wishing You all a Happy Friday. Forget about all bad things, your troubles and the drama others had brought into your life. Enjoy today and look forward to a weekend full of smiles.

Godly friendships are truly blessings from above. Keep on praying for each other because spiritual family is what keeps you going through the tough times.

GOOD NEWS! - I have PCOS which I learned in the diabetics class is a metabolic disease and that's what I'm taking metformin for. I've been presenting as a diabetic with the types of diseases I get, but my recent A1C test results prove I am not as my blood sugars fall in the normal range! Yay! Our son found a new job that is much, much closer to home. As we are down to one car at the moment, my husband was driving about 120 miles a day to get our son and himself to work Sunday through Friday. One of my girlfriends gave me a bag of fig pieces for Valentine's Day and I made some of my sugar-free cookies as a gift to thank her for sharing such a sweet gift with me. Our pastor had surgery on his back and his pocketbook and he are well! Another girl-friend got a clean bill of health from her doctor! Yay! Thank you Jesus!

CARDS -- My sweet husband remembered to give me a Valentine's card. And a girlfriend gave me a Mary Engelbreit card and Marsha Baker sent me a heart ATC #126.

GOOD WORDS - Confess, Forgiven, Kind, Love, Prayer, Repent, Trust

ARMCHAIR BIKE TRACKER - This is like the Metformin tracker. I did pretty good Monday through Fridays!

I DID IT! - The highlights of this month included -- doodling all my Bible coloring sheets for church this month! And the printer worked after we purchased some ink for it! I wrote a biography on the Kewpie artist Rose O'Neill for my History Nut blog. I cleaned out the frig and dug out all the "hairy homeschool science experiments" that were hiding in the back! PU! 😆 I made three batches of healthy cookies and 1 of carob fudge for our craft party. And I doodled 31 images this month for Marsha Baker's 365 Day Doodle challenge (T-68).

MEMORIES - TRAILS -- My husband and I compiled a list all the historical trails we have been on. How many have you traveled on? When we homeschooled, we would take a field trip to find and read historical markers as enrichment material.  My husband and I joined the KCAHTA last year to learn more about the Historic Trails in our area.

Boone's Lick Trail
