INSPIRATIONAL ARTICLE:
DIARY & PICTORIAL DIARY HIGHLIGHTS: I got a new lamp up in the kitchen over the sink and all new handles on my cabinet drawers and doors.
My honey gave me a card for Valentine's Day and took me out to Crackerbarrel to eat!
It snowed on the 15th of February! Brr!
And I'm thankful for my honey's raise at work.
SCRIPTURES:
Genesis 5:12 = When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them "man."
Psalm 8:3-4 = When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man, that you care for him.
Psalm 139:14 = I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
John 3:16 = For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
QUOTES & SAYINGS:
Grow through what you go through.
"Happy are the painters, for they shall not be lonely. Light and color, peace and hope, will keep them company to the end of the day." (Winston Churchill).
My first art journaling page says: (my paraphrase) Friendship: U Bring the brains and I the ice cream. We win! (Bob Goff). Here's the complete quote: "That's how friendship works: we join forces knowing each of us has something to learn from the other, and both of us benefit from the relationship. You bring the brains, I bring the ice cream, and everyone wins." (Bob Goff, Live in Grace-Walk in Love.)
Saying on 2nd art journal page: "JOY Girl" hip hip ha ray! O Happy Day!" I was thinking of that song "O Happy Day, When Jesus came to wash my sins away." By Edwin Hawkins.
"People grow when they are loved." (Bob Goff)
GOOD MEMORIES:
I remember Grandma's pork chops. They were so good! And her homemade, from scratch egg noodles. Mom disliked cooking and I grew up making food from boxes except for dad's applesauce cake.
My husband's grandmother showed me how to make bread from scratch and how to make mashed potatoes from real potatoes, not the dehydrated kind. She showed me how to cook turnips so they weren't bitter. My mother-in-law's homemade egg noodles are as good as my grandma's, but I have never mastered the art of making them. We used to bring home meat from my grandparent's after a visit. David's grandparents and parents sent home food with us after a visit. It was their way of loving us. I didn't understand that for a long time.
PRAYER LIST: When two or more are gathered together... a moment of silent prayer please...the Holy Spirit knows who those people are under the post-it-note and their needs. And I'm grateful for Daddy God's sweet Valentine this month.
GLUEBOOK PAGE: Last month I had blue tea envelopes and tags and this month I have red in honor of Valentine's Day. I can't drink or eat anything with caffeine in it, but I can drink herbal teas, so some of my collection has been given to me from friends . The envelopes and tags are so interesting to me, like Timothy's Christmas Blend tea envelope (close-up photo at link). It has a little primitive scene on it. Reminds me of a Grandma Moses painting. The Celestial Seasonings Black Cherry Berry has one too - those cherries look good enough to eat.
