By LaVerne P. Larson.
Truly lovely gift from God,
Tower of charm and grace,
How very bare the earth would seem
Without your emerald lace.
You reach up toward the heavens,
As if in reverent prayer,
To welcome sun and rain
With faith beyond compare.
You shade the weary traveler
And beckon birds to nest;
The wind tells you its secrets
As the day is lulled to rest.
Boys often scale your lofty heights
To view the countryside;
You seem to like their company
And sway with gentle pride.
We thank Thee God for every tree
That towers up from earth,
That we may share its beauty
And know its wondrous worth.

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. (Hebrews 12:28).
