I have decided, after reading an article online yesterday about new therapies for depression, which as many of you know, I struggled with for many years, to select only good news to read from my news feed. Everyday there is an onslaught of sad and horrifying articles in my news feed and for my mental health, I've decided to break from that as much as possible. For example, here's a story about a chain of people who formed to rescue people caught in a rip tide that I picked to read about today. Now they are all heroes in my book! Somebody at church Sunday said we don't hear enough GOOD NEWS, so when we hear some, we ought to share!

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion -- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ Isaiah 61:1-3b.
